Wycliffe Bible Translators Sudan Website A & K, along with their daughter, 6, and son, 3, are members of Wycliffe Bible Translators living in Khartoum, Sudan.
In cooperation with the local church, A. provides computer and other technical supportfor about 15 different teams of Sudanese who are doing Bible translation and literacy in their own languages, and for the other foreigners that provide other types of support for those teams. K. is currently focusing on homeschooling their children and getting to know other families in their local Muslim neighborhood. |

Uganda Africa Patrick Bukenya and his wife are active in evangelism in Uganda with The First Presbyterian Church of Uganda. Patrick Bukenya is the Missionary Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Uganda. He is actively involved in evangelism and discipleship. The vision of the Bukenyas and The Presbyterian Church of Uganda is to share the gospel with non-Christians through large outdoor events, door-to-door evangelism, prison ministry, and school evangelism. The concern of The First Presbyterian Church of Uganda is to reach the lost of Uganda. They are intentional about reaching the lost because it was part of Jesus Christ’s reason for coming to earth. Homeless Children Malawi, Africa Website James and Holli will be serving for two years at the African Bible College Community Clinic. James will be opening and staffing the new pediatric inpatient and outpatient facility. Holli will be involved in orphan outreach ministry as well as staying home with Ashley. Africa Inland Mission Kijabe, Kenya Website Jenny will be teaching at Rift Valley Academy, an international boarding school centered around providing quality education and meaningful support to missionary kids (MK's). Jenny was raised as an MK and her growth as a teacher has prepared her for this experience, and she is excited to pour into the lives of students at RVA whose parents are serving in countries all across Africa. The opportunity combines her love of teaching and her passion to be involved in overseas ministry, and it has been obivous to Jenny through every step that God's hand is leading and guiding. |
Christ for the Nations Mozambique Website Christa is a serving at Afrika wa Yesu, a ministry and Bible college in Inhaminga, Mozambique. Afrika wa Yesu is affiliated with Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas and was founded in 1990 by Rodney and Ellie Hein from Zimbabwe. The purpose of the school is to train national leaders from all over Mozambique in the Word of God, practical evangelism, and discipleship. The students and staff participate in evangelism outreaches, children's crusades, and women's conferences. They have a dental clinic in Inhaminga which serves the Bible school students as well as the community and a traveling clinic which serves people in outlying areas that have never seen a dentist. Children's ministry is also a big part of the ministry of Afrika wa Yesu. Afrika wa Yesu receives short term missions teams from various countries and they have a missions training program designed to train and equip future missionaries to serve full time on the mission field. The Afrika wa Yesu staff is a dedicated group of nationals and internationals working together. At Afrika wa Yesu, Christa's main responsibility is to assist Ellie with the many details of running the ministry. She also acts as hostess for visiting teams-this includes helping to plan and supervise the ministry schedule and making sure that everyone is taken care of. She is also teaching English at the Bible school and is involved evangelism outreaches, local church ministry, and children's ministry. Youth for Christ Guinea Bissau Website Wade and Katie McHargue with their 3 children, Abigail, Caleb and Josiah, serve with Youth for Christ in Guinea Bissau, West Africa. Their vision is to see Guinea Bissau become a reached nation, that becomes a spiritual beachhead for the Kingdom of God, that will then seek to evangelize the surrounding nations. They are opening a school that will be focused on leadership training, which will raise up fully committed and equipped followers of Jesus that will follow Him by life or by death. They are believing God for a church planting movement that no man will be able to take credit for, but all glory and honor will go to Jesus Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit. |

SIM Ethiopia We currently have missionaries serving with Serving in Mission (SIM) in Ethiopia. The missionaries and the local staff started and developed a literacy program. They also started several new schools and supervised them. They also helped with the creation of a community resource center. They primarily ministered to Ethiopians who speak Somali as their native or “heart” language. |
Wycliffe Africa Website Steve & Kathy Womack have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators for over 25 years, in South America, the U.S. and for the last 9 years in Africa.
Participating in support of Bible translation and Scripture communication is their part in the Great Commission, “Go…make disciples of all nations … teaching them to observe all I commanded you” Matt28:19a&20a. This can only happen when the Bible can be communicated in an understandable form to all. |
