+ CAFÉ MINISTRY TEAM

Ministry happens each and every week in the small corner of the lobby designated as the SCCC Café. Throughout any given day, it is the central hub for community and impromptu meetings, sought after for its accessibility and one of the only spaces on our campus where one can simultaneously enjoy the sunshine and outdoors. Weekly coffee, water, hot cocoa, and slushies and at times other refreshments are available during Sunday services.

+ COMPASSION MINISTRY TEAM

The Compassion Ministry is the Benevolent arm of the church. When people have physical needs such as rent, utilities, housing, gas, etc they come see us. We also interview those who are struggling with addiction or who need counseling and assess the best way to help. This ministry is a resource for those who do not know where to go for help when they are going through the struggles of life or when they need encouragement. The Compassion Ministry also has a Temporary Housing Program that houses families from 6 months to a year. This is a program that through prayer and Bible-based counseling will bring families into a Christian, stable environment that will help them return to independent living.

The Purpose of our Life Groups is to connect all SCCC members to a Biblical Community Experience which includes: Relational Care, prayer and accounting for all members while mutually submitting to one another. (Matt 18:12-14) Relational Discipleship of all members into maturity (Gal 4:19) through living in love and service to Christ, Home, Church, and the World, who will in turn, be and make disciples. (Mat 28:19-20; II Tim 2:2) Experience the life of Christ and life with one another because all are needed, valued, and vital to accomplish SCCC’s vision and mission so that no one will be left behind or alone and every person will be personally known. Other events have included a formal Valentine’s Dinner, Love & Respect classes, “Taste & Testimony” nights, and other gatherings and outings that support and encourage couples. A “Love & Respect” weekend retreat was hosted in the mountains for the Young Adult Couples and similar retreats are now being planned. + MEN’S MINISTRY TEAM

The Men's Ministry Team has been the longest running volunteer led team in SCCC history. Years ago, the Men decided to meet weekly on Wednesday nights in the small tent and committed to do so "until Jesus returns." Thus, the Men of Steele (MOS) was formed and has faithfully been living in community with the men that show up on any given week. The group has taken annual beach trips for over a decade and continue to host events throughout the year that encourage men to stay the course in all that the Lord has entrusted to them. The mission of the ministry is to encourage men to walk with God and walk with other men that they may more fully understand their true identity in Christ. We believe the fruit of this journey we encourage men to be the husbands, fathers, brothers and friends that God has called them to be.

+ SERVING MINISTRY TEAM

This ministry’s goal is to ensure that everyone that comes to SCCC is welcomed, loved and connected to the body of Christ through our love and service. From directing you in the parking lot to directing you on how to get connected, we do it all! Our greeters know that a smile can make all the difference for someone coming into the church. People serving the welcome desk are equipped to answer questions and serve them with valuable information. Sometimes emergencies arise during the weekend service. We have a team of medical professionals who volunteer their time and services to assist. A nurse, doctor or other medical professional can assess medical needs and make appropriate recommendations of next steps during a medical crisis. We also help guests find deeper connection with our life groups and ministry teams so they can take their next steps with confidence.

+ SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY TEAM

The Special Needs Ministry of SCCC is focused on reaching out to families who have been affected by a disability. As part of the Family Ministry, our team of volunteers work together to meet the physical, emotional, and most importantly, spiritual needs of the entire family, including children with disabilities, their parents, and their siblings. Our focus is on helping them deal with the challenges they face and pointing them to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ as the ultimate source of healing and peace. Our volunteers work in a team environment and utilize a variety of spiritual gifts. While knowledge and training are important and provided, the Special Needs Ministry highly values volunteers who simply have a passion to encourage and bless these awesome families. God is doing a great work in the Special Needs Ministry, and we invite you to come join our team!
