What is project 1040?
Project 1040 is Steele Creek Church’s global commitment to the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window is a term used by many churches and missionaries to describe a part of the world where most people haven’t heard about Jesus. It’s called the “10/40 Window” because it’s between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator, covering parts of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Our heart is to send and support missionaries who are sharing the Gospel in places where Jesus is least known.
Each month, we focus our prayers on a different country within the 10/40 Window, lifting up the people, leaders, and those called to serve there.

Country of the Month
This month, we turn our focus to India—the world’s most populous nation with over 1.4 billion people and remarkable cultural and religious diversity. India is home to more than 2,300 distinct people groups, and an estimated 2,100 of them remain unreached. The largest concentration of unreached people anywhere in the world. While nearly 80% of the population identifies as Hindu and about 2.3% identify as Christian, only around 2% are considered evangelical believers. Despite rapid development and technological progress, spiritual need remains immense. Millions have yet to hear the Gospel in a language and context they can understand.

Pray for India’s leaders to uphold human dignity, justice, and freedom for all people.
Pray for a change in government policies to allow true freedom of religion and peace among faiths.
Pray for protection, strength, and courage for Christians facing persecution in India.
Pray for persecutors and radical groups to encounter Jesus and be transformed by His love.
Pray for the Gospel to reach every unreached people group across India.
Pray for Chinna and his family’s ministry to flourish as they build an orphanage, train pastors, and serve the poor, widows, and lepers.
Pray for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit to bring revival, unity, and lasting transformation throughout India.
