Project 1040

What is project 1040?

Project 1040 is Steele Creek Church’s global commitment to the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window is a term used by many churches and missionaries to describe a part of the world where most people haven’t heard about Jesus. It’s called the “10/40 Window” because it’s between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator, covering parts of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Our heart is to send and support missionaries who are sharing the Gospel in places where Jesus is least known.

Each month, we focus our prayers on a different country within the 10/40 Window, lifting up the people, leaders, and those called to serve there.

Join us in prayer and be part of what God is doing around the world through Project 1040.

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
Matthew 24:14

Country of the Month

This month, we turn our hearts toward Indonesia—one of the most spiritually significant nations within the 10-40 Window and home to the largest Muslim population in the world. Indonesia’s place in this region highlights the immense spiritual need represented in the 3.2 billion unreached people who live here. In the past twenty years, the country has endured devastating natural disasters, with over 200,000 lives lost and millions left homeless from earthquakes, flooding, mudslides, and tsunamis. On top of physical suffering, Indonesia has seen rising persecution against Christians, particularly in Maluku and Sulawesi, where believers who come out of Islam often face severe rejection. Yet amid the hardship, there is a beautiful and diverse nation God loves deeply—more than 17,000 islands, 722 languages, and countless communities waiting for the hope of Jesus. As we pray this month, we stand with our partners on the ground and ask the Lord to move powerfully across Indonesia with His protection, His peace, and His Gospel.

Pray for comfort, provision, and long-term recovery for the millions affected by ongoing natural disasters across the islands.

Pray for the protection and salvation of the 500,000+ Indonesian migrant workers—80% of whom are women—who are vulnerable and often isolated.

Pray for believers in Maluku and Sulawesi to stand firm in the face of persecution and to shine the light of Christ in their communities.

Pray for spiritual breakthrough on Sumatra, the world’s largest unevangelized island, and for workers to reach the many Muslim communities there.

Pray for revival in Bali, a global tourist hub with 49,000 Hindu temples, that the truth of Jesus would transform hearts and families.

Pray for effective ministry across Indonesia’s 722 languages and 17,000+ islands, with more Bible translations and culturally relevant discipleship.

Pray for the Sumbayak family—our partners in Indonesia—to be strengthened, protected, and empowered as they bring the Gospel to unreached communities.
