Project 1040

What is project 1040?

Project 1040 is Steele Creek Church’s global commitment to the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window is a term used by many churches and missionaries to describe a part of the world where most people haven’t heard about Jesus. It’s called the “10/40 Window” because it’s between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator, covering parts of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Our heart is to send and support missionaries who are sharing the Gospel in places where Jesus is least known.

Each month, we focus our prayers on a different country within the 10/40 Window, lifting up the people, leaders, and those called to serve there.

Join us in prayer and be part of what God is doing around the world through Project 1040.

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
Matthew 24:14

Country of the Month

This month, we turn our focus to Cambodia. Despite its proximity, Cambodia’s Christian footprint remains small. The population is about 17.8 million, and there are 45 people groups, of which 19 (42 %) are considered unreached. About 98 % of the population live within those unreached groups.

Only about 3.3 % of Cambodians identify as Christian, and a mere 1.4 % are evangelical believers. This means Cambodia represents both a deeply challenging and high-priority field: many have yet to hear the gospel in a culturally accessible way, even though it is accessible physically.

Please pray for Kim Morgan, one of our missionaries, that God would strengthen and encourage her as she continues to labor faithfully in Cambodia alongside local believers.

Pray for the people of Cambodia, that the nearly 18 million people, of which only about 3% are Christian, would have opportunities to hear and respond to the Gospel, especially the 19 unreached people groups.

Lift up Canaan Church, asking God to bless Kim and the congregation she partners with so their ministry will bear lasting fruit.

Pray for the local pastors: for Pastor Sok and his family to be protected and provided for, for Pastor Rotha to have wisdom and strength as he ministers among refugees, and for Pastor Set to have guidance and endurance as he reaches people groups in the mountains.

Pray for unity among the churches in Cambodia, that believers would work together to reach the unreached with the love of Christ.

Ask God to grant the church favor and grace with the governing authorities, so that the work of the Gospel may continue unhindered.

Pray for a strong discipleship movement, that Cambodian churches would not only grow in number but also multiply mature disciples who can lead and disciple others.
