Family Ministry Updates
Little Arrows Preschool, a ministry of Steele Creek Church, partners with families during the important preschool years. We are open Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., providing a joyful, nurturing, Christ-centered environment where children ages 2–6 can grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically while feeling loved, safe, and known.

With our new preschool launching, we're making a few room changes beginning July 12. PreK will meet in Room 105 and Fours in Room 106 on the Little Arrows Hallway. Threes will continue meeting in Room 103 on the Special Needs Hallway. The kids will move around again on Promotion Sunday in August.

Devotional: When Home Becomes Holy Ground
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
— Colossians 3:23
Most of us picture our spiritual lives happening during church services, Bible studies, or quiet mornings with a cup of coffee. But Scripture paints a much bigger picture. God is not only interested in what happens in the sanctuary—He's deeply interested in what happens around the dinner table, during bedtime routines, in the minivan, while folding laundry, and during difficult conversations after a long day.
The home is one of the primary places where discipleship happens.
From the very beginning, God designed families to reflect His character. Parents were never simply called to raise well-behaved children; they were called to reveal what God is like. His patience. His mercy. His justice. His forgiveness. His steadfast love.
That calling can feel overwhelming because family has a unique way of exposing what's actually in our hearts.
The people we love most also have the greatest ability to reveal our impatience, selfishness, pride, and need for control. It's much easier to appear patient with strangers than with a toddler asking the same question for the tenth time. It's easier to be gracious at church than after a sleepless night. Family doesn't create these struggles—it uncovers them.
And that's one of God's greatest gifts.
Every interruption becomes an invitation to become more like Christ.
Every conflict becomes an opportunity to practice forgiveness before demanding it.
Every ordinary moment becomes a chance to show our children—or our spouse—that the gospel isn't merely something we believe; it's something we live.
The goal of Christian family life is not perfection. If it were, every home would fail.
The goal is formation.
God often shapes us through ordinary faithfulness more than extraordinary moments. A whispered bedtime prayer. A sincere apology to your child. Choosing gentleness instead of frustration. Reading Scripture together even when everyone seems distracted. These moments may feel insignificant, but heaven measures them differently.
Jesus spent roughly thirty years living an ordinary family life before beginning three years of public ministry. Scripture tells us very little about those years, but that silence reminds us of something profound: ordinary faithfulness matters to God.
Your kitchen can become a sanctuary.
Your dining table can become a place of discipleship.
Your living room can become holy ground.
Not because your family is perfect—but because God is present there.
Prayer
Father, thank You for placing me in this family and for using ordinary moments to shape me into the image of Jesus. Help me remember that the way I love, speak, forgive, and serve at home is an act of worship. Teach me to see interruptions as opportunities, conflicts as invitations to extend grace, and everyday routines as holy work. May our home become a place where Your love is experienced and where the gospel is lived out daily. Amen.

Kingdom Quest: Living The Greatest Adventure
No matter what the adventure is, it is really important to have a guide, someone who leads the way and someone you can go to when you need help. We want preschoolers to know God gave us a Guide—His Son, Jesus! Jesus teaches me about God’s kingdom. So, this month, we are exploring stories Jesus told to learn how we can help God’s kingdom grow.

July Youth Update

A few important schedule updates for July:
- There will be no youth service on Sunday, July 5
- No youth service on July 12 (camp week)
- No youth service on July 26 (Serve Sunday)
