What is project 1040?
Project 1040 is Steele Creek Church’s global commitment to the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window is a term used by many churches and missionaries to describe a part of the world where most people haven’t heard about Jesus. It’s called the “10/40 Window” because it’s between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator, covering parts of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Our heart is to send and support missionaries who are sharing the Gospel in places where Jesus is least known.
Each month, we focus our prayers on a different country within the 10/40 Window, lifting up the people, leaders, and those called to serve there.
Join us in prayer and be part of what God is doing around the world through Project 1040.
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
Country of the Month
This March, we are praying for Laos, a Southeast Asian nation located within the 10/40 Window—the region spanning North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia between 10 and 40 degrees north latitude. The 10/40 Window is home to the highest concentration of unreached people groups and the least access to the gospel. Laos, a Communist nation, often views Christianity as a foreign Western influence. Many believers gather in house churches, and most congregations do not have access to trained pastors. Authorities sometimes detain Christians in attempts to control church activity, and believers may face denial of medical care, education, and social services. Bibles are not sold in bookstores, and although some government-approved churches can distribute them in limited ways, the distribution of Christian literature is heavily restricted. Despite opposition, the church in Laos continues to endure with quiet faithfulness and courage.

Pray for the continued protection and impact of the anti-trafficking work Steele Creek has supported in Laos, asking God to rescue the vulnerable and transform systems of exploitation.
Pray for integrity among church leaders, that they would walk in holiness, courage, and faithfulness under pressure.
Pray for unity among church leaders, that the Lord would remove division and strengthen collaboration within the house church movement.
Pray that believers in Laos would be deeply rooted in Scripture, growing in spiritual maturity even where access to trained pastors and Bibles is limited.
Pray that the love of Christ would tear down strongholds of fear and suspicion, filling believers with boldness, compassion, and unwavering hope.
