Project 1040

What is project 1040?

Project 1040 is Steele Creek Church’s global commitment to the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window is a term used by many churches and missionaries to describe a part of the world where most people haven’t heard about Jesus. It’s called the “10/40 Window” because it’s between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator, covering parts of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Our heart is to send and support missionaries who are sharing the Gospel in places where Jesus is least known.

Each month, we focus our prayers on a different country within the 10/40 Window, lifting up the people, leaders, and those called to serve there.

Join us in prayer and be part of what God is doing around the world through Project 1040.

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

Matthew 24:14

Country of the Month

This month, our Project 1040 focus is Malaysia, a vibrant Southeast Asian nation known for its rich cultural diversity. Home to more than 36 million people, Malaysia is made up primarily of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Thai, and Indonesian communities. Its capital, Kuala Lumpur, is one of the world's largest megacities and is recognized for its iconic skyline. Spiritually, Malaysia remains a great mission field, with 78 of its 183 people groups considered unreached and only 3.6% of the population identifying as evangelical Christians. The country's primary religions are Islam (63%), Buddhism (18%), and Hinduism (6.1%). Join us this month as we pray for the people of Malaysia—that hearts would be open to the Gospel, believers would be strengthened and unified, and many would come to know the hope found in Jesus Christ.

Scroll below to see how you can pray specifically!

Pray for greater unity among believers as churches continue to come together across denominational lines.

Pray that people would recognize the eternal hope found in Christ instead of being consumed by wealth, entertainment, and materialism.

Pray for boldness, wisdom, and the leading of the Holy Spirit as believers share the Gospel.

Pray for entire families to come to faith, as family relationships are deeply valued in Malaysian culture.

Pray that children and students would encounter God's Word through the internet, media, and personal relationships, leading them to seek Jesus.

Pray that those searching for truth would experience the love and presence of Christ through local churches.

A high-angle view of many people climbing a massive, steep staircase painted in vibrant blocks of rainbow colors, leading up to a temple.

A busy street market at night in Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown, packed with people under a canopy of glowing red Chinese lanterns and market stalls.
